What is road freight?
Also known as road transport, haulage or trucking. Involves the transportation of goods by vehicles such as trucks, lorries or vans on roads and highways. It is a vital element of logistics and supply chain management. It provides flexibility, direct delivery and accessibility to a wide range of locations.
Will I require a customs declaration for road freight?
The United Kingdom withdrew from the European Union on 31st January 2020 which now means that all importers and exporters of goods will require a customs declaration for their goods being imported and exported. Due to their being a customs border between the United Kingdom and the European Union.

What does groupage mean?
Groupage or Less That Truckload (LTL) is used when cargo doesn’t require a dedicated vehicle for delivery, the advantage of using groupage is the lower cost to transport your products from A to B, however it can often take much longer and only depart on certain days of the week, with no flexibility as it is being consolidated with other importer and exporters cargo.
What does direct drive / dedicated vehicle mean?
This is used when a shipment is ultra urgent and requires an exclusive dedicated vehicle to collect and deliver the shipment, the advantages of using a dedicated vehicle is control and time, you will be updated on the exact location of the shipment by GPS and provided with exact time milestones throughout the journey of the vehicle.
